Meatballs Alla Norma


  • Minced beef 400 g
  • Β½ bunch of parsley
  • Fennel seeds 20 g
  • 2 small aubergines
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Sweet chilli dipping sauce 1 tablespoon
  • Balsamic vinegar 1 tablespoon
  • 1 tin of tomatoes
  • Dry polenta 200 g
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Cooking Instructions:

  1. That is an easy beef recipe, you will also find out how to cook polenta. Start with the meatballs. Chop Β½ bunch of parsley, stalks and all and mix with 400 g of minced beef. Season the mince with salt and pepper. Give all that a really good mix. Then, form 20 equal balls. Give each ball a quick roll with wet hands, that will make them a bit smoother.
  2. Next, sprinkle some fennel seeds onto the board and place your meatballs and let fennel seeds stick to them. Then, place the meatball onto the hot pan with olive oil. Cook until they are golden and juicy.
  3. Cut 2 aubergines into small chunks, season them with salt, leave for 10 minutes and then, squeeze all the juices. After that, place your aubergine into the pan at medium-high heat, add a splash of olive oil. Then, crush 1-2 cloves of garlic. Next, add 1 tablespoon of sweet chilly dipping sauce, along with 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar. Then, add a tin of tomatoes.
  4. When cooked, place your meatball into the tomato sauce and let them simmer away.
  5. Next, season 1 lt of boiling water with salt. Add 200 g of polenta, do not stop whisking. It takes 1,5 minute to cook polenta. Add 10 g of butter and 10 g of grated parmesan. Whisk again.
  6. Serve your delicious meatballs with polenta. Delicious!
